Now, please understand, desire is a natural phenomenon. Lust is a part of the human condition. We recognize beauty. We recognize pleasure and on occasion we indulge. That’s a facet of our lives here. So what does it mean to remain chaste?
Chastity- the successful integration of sexuality within the person and thus the inner unity of man in his bodily and spiritual being.
Would that be the Union of opposites from esoteric teachings hiding in plain sight? Yes! To refrain from releasing sexual energy in states of lust is to turn ones heart towards the Divine. It’s the seeking of harmony within our being. We’re not restricting anything. We’re repurposing it. Instead of mindlessly sharing our bodies with others we’re seeking constant contact with God.
None of us get this right. It’s a part of the learning curve of life. All this prayer is designed to do is use the natural polarity within ourselves in those moments. Oh, something outside of yourself turns you on? Acknowledge that feeling. Pause. Come into yourself, turn towards God and recite the prayer.
Repeat it as often as you need to throughout the day. Grow through what you go through.
