“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.” – Chief Seattle

I’m going to dive into a more metaphysical explanation as a starting point for how we raise the vibrations around us. My reasoning behind this is one of the first things meditation taught me is how connected I am with the world around me. As this connection deepened my perspective began to shift.

I feel it’s equally important for us to keep in mind that even neurologists and philosophers are starting to unearth how vital our role of perception is. We literally craft our reality as we go. This line of thinking has long since been the ground of most mystical belief systems. “The All is mind” as they say in the Kybalion.

My personal belief is that consciousness is the ground of all being. Most people tend to think of eastern philosophy upon hearing that sentiment. However, I think of the Sefer Yetzirah.

“The 22 letters which form the stamina after having been appointed and established by God, He combined, weighed and changed them, and formed by them all beings which are in existence.”

– The Book Of Formation

Science tells us us that all matter- what I deemed consciousness- is in a state of vibration. The frequency and order at which things vibrate is what gives them their physical shape. This interests me greatly. Two reasons.

  • Is science close to proving the existence of God?
  • How did the ancients come to their understanding?

The former puts me in the dreamer category but the latter I understand.

The ancients went within and  meditated. In doing so they contacted the Divine presence within all things directly. It’s a paradox: we can only understand the universe by seeking to understand ourselves.

Now there are many schools of  thought on how one can understand self. The east birthed several traditions, most of which are alive and well today. The near east gave us Kabbalah. Finally, the Wisdom of Kemet (Egypt) birthed many of the ancient mysteries schools. We see their descendants reflected in Rosicrucianism.

What all of these traditions seem to have in common is a Cosmic Unity connecting all things; what science calls energy. Each path also offers a variety of vowel intonations that awaken the energy within  us moving us towards that unity. Over the next few posts I will go into detail on the methods and meditative techniques involved to the level of my  understanding.

Forgive me if I brush over doctrinal differences and focus on how they are alike. My goal is always cooperation and harmony with people of all walks of faith and argument tends to work against that aim.

For now I want you to consider the nature of sound. When we speak chords in our throats vibrate producing sounds we hear by picking up the vibrations that vibrate against bones in our ears.

Thank you all for your time

    1. Thank you for that. My inner dreamer definitely wants to be right. I’ve been watching a lot of Ted talks lately and this guy Tom Chi gave an absolutely brilliant presentation on how things are interconnected. It really drove home a lot of Hermetic Philosophy for me. We all swim in the same channels at the very least. Besides, if I’m completely wrong I’ll just take a page from Churchill’s book. “Eating words has never given me indigestion.”
