Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Existence itself comes from a Divine source. We saw how Sophia acted as the canvas the Godhead painted existence onto. The Godhead exacted His will and imbibed Sophia with all the intelligence necessary for life. So when the paintbrush itself decides to speak we should probably listen.
When we consider the source of all there is only exists in relation to God our rebirth is more of an awakening to that essence. We’re talking about a commitment to honor the gift of life not a recitation of religious rights. If we’re not actively working towards being the sort of vessels God would find delight dwelling in knowing Sophia permeates all matter we’re not honoring our gift of life. Yeshua is calling us to recognize the source of living water flowing through our being and show reverence to it.
- What does it mean to be born of spirit?
- How does being born of the spirit tie into the Kingdom of God?
How was the Universe born of Spirit and how does that relate to us? To put it mildly, we follow the same pattern of creation:
“God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them…”
-Genesis 1:27
The Godhead created Sophia and formed Her into a Universal Soul that essentially gives existence a heartbeat. Then He created us. Adam (אָדָם) “humankind, the singular implies a collective.” Moshe is implying we had no form and existed spiritually in a place beyond space and time- tie it to the masculine/feminine line if you must but understand energy is soul- before we incarnated into the existence we know now. We were with the Infinite existing in the ocean of soul.
There are two words for image used in Genesis 1:27. Tselem (צֶלֶם) “image, illusion, phantom, or representative. In the image of God means we were created with the Divine aspects capable of discerning things spiritually and mentally. That’s why demuth (כדמותנו) “likeness, similitude, or expression” seems like it’s reinforcing the same thing. There’s the male and female aspect accounted for with the language to match. If we didn’t dive deep into demuth we’d never see it’s almost always used as a literary bridge to compare two things that have nothing in common. The Prophet Ezekiel used it compare what is seen in heaven with what is seen on earth. There are two points in the body that can relate to these terms in meditation.
We aren’t just expressions of God we’re spiritually and mentally aware as well. “Male and female He created them.” On a cosmic scale we’re talking about the positive and negative charges that bond forming the building blocks of life, including our own. Spiritually, we experience emotions and thoughts during our lives as an internal measure to decide how we maintain balance. While nature is brutal in many ways we are animals given the gift of reason. We feel and think. Our dominion over the elements should be seen a stewardship where the natural order is respected. Otherwise, our collective soul would’ve remained in a primordial state.

Humanity is connected to a time when we hadn’t materialized yet. There is a spiritual form to us that comes from beyond the physical world. We had our pivotal moment in the Ocean that formed. Sophia tells us She had spent time with us. We see it in Proverbs where she says she was “Rejoicing in the world, His earth, And having my delight in the sons of mankind.” Now, this doesn’t tell us whether or not this took place before or after God “breathed into our nostrils the breath of life,” but literal millennia are passing in the creation epic. All we can say for certain is the same breathe that gave life to the universe gave life to us. “For the blood is the life.” We are the out breath that received Nefesh from the Divine as He rested.
“On the 7th day He rested.” and all paradoxes were reconciled in the Infinite.
Sit on this for a while.
Look, If you have anything to add or insight that you see please share it. I’m developing a course to step into the Kingdom here. This is a concept that’s been called many different names over and over again. Please bang those keys like Stevie Wonder and tell us something.
Still not a guru. Still a regular guy who meditates on really simple stuff like ‘God is good.’ (deep breath in and hold it) ‘All the time.’ (exhale and release the goodness). We call it esoteric, yeah!!! but this is really simple. Whatever your path is, if you meditate, you’re tapping in and more than free to add to what you see. Contradictions are welcomed. We learn in that tension.
Speak and share good people. Speak and share!
